The creation of this piece involves many steps. First, small glass pieces are stacked and cast into a slab. The slab is then sliced into sections, which are trimmed to size and then cast again into a crescent form. Finally, the crescent is ground and polished and then fired once more. Every inch of this piece contains amazing patterns, with each individual layer of glass interacting with its neighbors. Reflected and transmitted light allow for many varied display opportunities.
